Funding invested in items to redecorate and furnish the ‘Douglas Den’ room at the back of the community centre to create an inviting communal space, especially for the elderly members of the community during the cold winter months. Funds went towards paint for the walls as well as furnishings for the room (arm chairs, coffee table and wall paintings). The space will also be inclusive to a number of non-parish groups including Slimming World, Blood Service, local government and dance clubs.

Sizzling staff from The Three Horseshoes and Carling staff volunteered their time to support the project, on the 26^th February 2019, helping to paint and decorate. As well as an inviting communal space, people will now be able to enjoy a hot meal, made in the adjoining (and recently fundraised) kitchen.
