Defibrillators are becoming more and more common in public places to provide a lifesaving service should the need arise. They are usually positioned in places where there is heavy footfall or places less accessible by ambulance.

The funding went towards purchasing and installing a defibrillator in the Bolton community, to provide lifesaving treatment to those in cardiac arrest. The defibrillator is hosted by The Salvation Army church in South Bolton. The project champion, Kayleigh, helped to monitor the device on a weekly basis and the North West Ambulance Service are planning to deliver free awareness training to the local community.
