The Old Manor Inn, Weston-Super-Mare with the Worle Defibrillator project

Project: Worle Defibrillator
Nominated by: The Old Manor Inn, Weston-Super-Mare
Total Investment: £2,041

The local community surrounding the pub did not have easy access to an AED (Automated External Defibrillators). The goal was to raise funds for a defibrillator to be installed on a nearby church. The pub fundraised an incredible £1,141 to go towards this project.

The local community is predominantly made up of elderly people, who are unfortunately those most at risk of cardiac arrest. A local NHS worker, who has helped local schools and the parish council to purchase AED’s, offered to help with the instalment as well as delivering a training session. The Project Champion also helped to recruit local volunteers to perform regular maintenance checks on the defibrillator.

Quite simply, we couldn’t have done it without the help of our Sizzling guests! Visit us today to see what else is going on at The Old Manor Inn.
